I’m excited to announce that we will be publishing our first photography book in April 2022. Yet to be titled, the book will feature more than 100 rare and intimate photographs of California Roma, shot by Long Beach photojournalist Cristina Salvador Klenz. There are few, if any, ethnic groups that have been more persecuted, victimized or outcast than the Roma (known for centuries as “Gypsies,” a term now deemed culturally insensitive.) Our book promises to illuminate and celebrate this hidden community while offering a much-needed education for the rest of us. And here’s a fun fact: I used to work with Cristina at the Long Beach Press-Telegram.
