Hidden: Life with California’s Roma Families features a stunning collection of rare and intimate black-and-white images shot over a period of years by Southern California photojournalist Cristina Salvador Klenz. With an introduction by Ian Hancock, the world’s preeminent scholar on the Roma people, the book seeks to pull back the curtain on a culture greatly discriminated against and yet largely unknown to mainstream America.

The first photography book to feature Romani Americans, Hidden also provides historical and social context for the book’s 111 photographs, which were lavishly printed in duotone by Italian printer Editoriale Bortolazzi-Stei (EBS).
